Answers for building and testing
Start with the guides below. For an issue, send support the details needed to reproduce it without sending credentials.
Where do I find my App ID?
Sign in to the customer portal. Your project App ID, server URL, and token endpoint appear on the Overview page.
Can I show the App Secret in a mobile app or website?
No. The App Secret must remain on your backend. Your backend uses it to issue a short-lived RTC user token after authenticating the user and checking room access.
How do I test a call correctly?
Use two different users on two physical devices or browsers, join the same project and room, and test permissions, reconnects, chat, and calls separately.
Why did a chat message or call fail?
Check that both users use the same project, have valid tokens, joined the same room, and have the required plan. Then open Diagnostics with the call ID and UTC time.
How do push notifications work?
Android requires Firebase Messaging setup, device registration, and notification handling in your app. Provider acceptance does not prove a phone displayed the notification. iOS uses APNs for chat alerts and PushKit with CallKit for calls. Configure provider credentials, register device tokens, and subscribe to chat rooms.
Can I use RTCExpress for a production launch today?
Test your full workflow first. You must also decide your own user access rules, consent, retention, moderation, support process, and legal requirements. Paid billing and an SLA are not active yet.
